About Karen Aldridge

Karen Aldridge is the Managing Director and owner of HR Fix Pty Ltd.

We help businesses take the headache out of managing risk and compliance in relation to your people.

Karen has over 15 years experience in human resources generalist positions that have allowed her to provide specialist advice and solutions to businesses in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations. Specifically, Karen’s expertise in recent years has been in helping the small to medium business market interpret and apply the Fair Work Act legislation using a realistic approach.

Karen completed her Masters Degree at the University of Sydney, which has provided her with the right qualifications to support her business and career. Karen’s ability to create practical solutions when faced with day-to-day people management issues has given her a reputation as a true business partner and expert in her field.

Previously Karen has been involved in Operational HR related projects including Industrial Relations, Performance Management design and implementation and Recruitment and Selection techniques. Karen is always looking for smart and practical outcomes that link your people’s performance to profit.

Karen has worked within the Telecommunications sector, has experience in start up’s, Management Consultancy and more recently in the last 5 years with the small business market ranging across all industries.

Through Karen’s business, HR Fix, she is able to help businesses manage their risk and compliance through providing practical solutions.

Who is ‘Nameless the Gnome’?

Owner/operator Karen Aldridge had always had a dream to own her own business. This dream became a reality in 2009 when after having her second child she had to decide whether the city corporate life was still her passion. It was not and HR Fix became a reality.

The first two weeks of the life and development of HR Fix was spent at the Australasian HR Coach Network. Part of that accreditation involved travelling to Brisbane for a 2-week intensive training program on all things business. It was the best opportunity to focus 100% on HR Fix (which I am sure any small business owner knows is worth so much)… Karen walked away with many tools and techniques that are still used in the business today.

Nameless the GnomeThis is where the Gnome comes from. He is ‘Nameless the Gnome’ and has sat in the HR Fix headquarters since returning from Brisbane in 2009, he has been moved several times to provide inspiration and also move from a home office to their offices based in Kurnell.

In the first 12 months of starting HR Fix, it was apparent that the small to medium business market was hungry for knowledge on the changing landscape of HR and employment law. Therefore, Karen set out to provide this information free to her local community through many seminars on the Industrial Relations roller coaster. This provided credibility and confidence in the knowledge and experience that Karen had – which still precedes her today.
